Cupscale

Cupscale is a GUI made by NMKD with the intention of making ESRGAN upscaling more accessible. It has many features such as model interpolation, model chaining, instant previews, easy image comparison generation, and many more.

The GitHub page with info is here: https://github.com/n00mkrad/cupscale

Basic Tutorial

This tutorial is designed for version 1.38, but it may work for future versions. This only covers the basics, and will be updated later to include it's more advanced features.

To begin using Cupscale, follow these steps:

  1. Download it here: https://github.com/n00mkrad/cupscale/releases
  2. Extract the folder to any location you like. Do not put it in Program Files
  3. Run Cupscale.exe
  4. You may need to install prerequisites (required to run the program). Read Below for more information
  5. Specify a models path in Cupscale's settings.
  6. Download models from the Game Upscale Wiki or Discord Server and place them in that folder

Prerequisite Setup

You have the option of Embedded Python, which comes with all of them, or installing them separately. Embedded Python does *not* work on RTX 20/30 series cards.

To install Embedded Python, go to the icon to the left of the settings/gear icon (it looks like a checklist). Click Embedded Python Installer on the left, then press Install.
